What I Wish For You and Your Writing in 2023 — Because It’s Time To Get Back On the Horse

It’s more about optimism, fun and following your heart than getting the writing whip out again

It’s hard to believe that it’s three years since our world was turned upside down.

So many people (including me) have said how hard it has been to keep track of days, months, years. It’s as if since January 2020, time has been both suspended and twisted.

But enough of that. I’ve also heard people talk much more optimistically about 2023 and what might happen. Especially for things we have been putting off, like travel, making more time for family, making time for those “one day” projects.

You very likely don’t know that I was one of those who used time in lockdown to reconsider my life — and I ended up moving back to my home country, New Zealand! Not a light decision, nor in the end an easy one. Apart from the hassles of getting rid of 40 years of “stuff” and the pain of saying goodbye to dear friends, it was also about packing a houseload of possessions, transporting the cat, finding somewhere new to live, and all along, continuing to write and edit.

What has it been like?
