This sounds like the Trumpist group is small, maybe a few hundred or thousand. Even if that is right, it seems that they are supported or backed by millions, either openly or simply by not speaking up. To me that's where the problem lies - those who secretly agree, might not like the violence so much, but not enough to say "stop".
