Melbourne Is Lockdown City, And Holds the World Record, But What’s It Really Like?
Don’t believe what you read in the hysterical media, please
As I write, my city of Melbourne, Australia, has just become the most locked down city in the world — 235 days — beating Buenos Aires. It’s not a record any of us wanted. But most of us shake our heads wearily and agree it’s what has been needed.
All over the world, various media outlets, from the falsified hysterical to the truly astonished, have reported on our series of hard lockdowns. We’re in Number 6, and man, we’re really exhausted. I know a lot of people who have said this one has been the worst. I think because we thought we knew how to beat Covid-19 back to zero cases. Doughnut days, we called them. A double doughnut was no cases and no deaths. There were days last year when double doughnuts were celebrated with cakes and champagne.
This year, Delta has kicked us to the ground and stomped on us
Probably what hurts even more is that we did have it beaten. We had some glorious months of life almost normal again. After over 110 days of hard lockdown last year, during which a lot of people in our neighbouring state of New South Wales jeered at us and professed themselves to be appalled…
