I read your article, Umair, and am very glad that Canada saved you! I'm not sure if you have any knowledge of where Australia and New Zealand are at these days. After 9 years of increasingly horrible, lying, corrupt conservative governments in Australia, (Liberal/National parties coalition) they did enough bad things to make people angry enough to vote the Labor govt in. Things are slowly turning around but there is a lot of damage to fix and Covid debt, big inflation and increasing interest rates are taking a toll.

Still, Australians should thank their lucky stars every day that their mineral wealth is so vast.

New Zealand had Jacinda Ardern and her Labour govt for 6 years, with an election later this year. In that time, NZ has gone from being connected, inclusive and caring (it seemed) to being divisive and angry. You would be amazed at how many people loathe Ardern and were very vocal about it. It's a small country, struggling with inflation and the cost of everything, and the worst thing probably is the low wages here have pushed many qualified medical staff to leave for Australia and better money. It's meant a bigger strain than ever on the health system. Immigration may help, but that divisiveness includes a loud, racist group that the opposition party like to use as their trumpet.

I'd love you to write about NZ, Umair, and analyse it from your experience and expertise.
