I love kingfishers almost as much as I love tuis. Tuis also have that marvellous colour in their feathers - it looks black until the sun lights it into iridescent green-blue. We had two kingfishers nearby until the neighbours cut so much off their nesting tree that they abandoned it. Grrr.
