I hear you. I had the Australian version of tenure at my polytech college but the money coming in (or not coming in) dictated everything, and then our brilliant course was gradually eroded and then destroyed by course writers who used templates and knew nothing about creative writing. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. Now I wonder why I stayed so long. Hope your new career is wonderful!
