In all my years at school in New Zealand, I don’t ever remember studying (or even reading) any stories by Katherine Mansfield. Like many other famous NZ writers, she was ignored in our curriculum. Instead, I only remember books by Margaret Drabble and other “real” writers from countries far, far away.
